The German Spitz is a breed of dog that comes in five size varieties. According to the FCI, the largest variety, the Keeshond, has a height of 43-55 cm at the withers and a weight of 18-25 kg. The smallest variety, the Pomeranian, has a height of 18-22 cm and a weight of 1.5-3 kg. As for the average life expectancy, it is estimated that the German Spitz can live between 12 and 16 years. This dog breed belongs to Group 5 of Spitz and primitive type dogs, according to the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
